Bernie's 73 Hilux

For our first feature, let's take a moment to check out Bernie's Hilux from Arizona.  Bernie has been building this truck for the past couple show seasons and it has progressed into a full out show stopper.  Even in it's current condition this truck takes home best suspension trophies at a lot of shows Bernie takes it to.
Obviously, this truck has seen numerous saw blades, grinding wheels, and hundred of hours in front of a welding machine. Below is a breakdown of mods done so far to this truck.

-Stock floor frame built by Bernie himself.
-Shaved handles
-Custom bumper, hood, and grille
-1uz-fe Lexus V8 with automatic transmission
-20x 8.5 Boss 338's wrapped in 225/30/20 rubbers
-Hand built floor pans, firewall, and tranny tunnel

There are hundreds of small details on this truck that a list of mods could never come close to pinpointing.  If you are ever out west come show season, you are bound to see Bernie at at least a couple shows.  Rumor has it, a driveshaft may be in the hear future which only means one thing...it will soon be alive!

More pictures below.

This is one of the many, many details on Bernie's truck.  He has transplanted an 84-88 Toyota Pickup rear glass
into his '73 Lux.  These large rear window mods are typically suited for older hot rod style trucks, not minis. Just
one of those special touches that are all over this truck.
